These 7-inch tall pieces are known in two top treatments; a jack-in-the-pulpit and a straight up shape with curved in top as shown here. The jack-in-the-pulpit shape is usually referred to as a vase, the straight up as a hatpin holder. An unusual version, though unlikely Dugan, has the same pattern but lacks the detail between the thumbprint panels. A ruffled example of that in aqua opal sold for $3,500 in 1999.
