About Windmill

A highly detailed scene shows the mold makers skill: the central windmill has trees, a stone bridge, wooden fence and even a church type building with a steepled roof. The original pattern was listed as #514. This pattern was also reproduced in the 1960’s through the 1980’s, and the pieces should be marked with IG, LIG, ALIG, or S with a circle trademarks.

Windmill Bowls (includes large bowls & sauce bowls)

- Large
- Measure 7" to 9"
-Pattern consists of a central windmill within a detailed landscape [Two versions: normal has no birds right of windmill, variant has 5 birds right of windmill.]
- Sauce
- Measure 5"
Both have:
- Collar base
- Ribbed exterior
- Edge treatments are Ruffled or Round
- Edges are even scallops

Windmill Oval Dresser Tray/Pickle Dish (same mold):

- Pattern consists of oval ring with a windmill and detailed landscape scene, outer ring with stippling
- Dresser Tray is flattened version (9 1/4" by 6 1/2"), Pickle Dish is cupped up or ruffled
- Rib exterior
- Scalloped edges

Windmill Water Sets (includes Pitchers,Tumblers):

- Pitcher has 2 ovals - windmill landscape,column of 5 cosmos-type flowers between;under the spout the oval has a pond with a fisherman.
- Three sizes of pitchers exist:

- Small (often called a Milk pitcher) 6 1/4" to top of spout, 3 1/2" across the top

- Medium water pitcher- 8 1/2" to top of spout [circumference smaller than standard]

- Standard water pitcher- 8 1/2" to top of spout [circumference larger than medium pitcher]

- Collar based
- Scalloped top edge
- Molded handle (clear on Marigold and Smoke)
- Water sets would usually be a pitcher and 6 tumblers
- Tumblers-3 ovals with a windmill landscape with column of 4 flowers between
